I know everyone's probably heard about China's horrible pollution problem, but I thought I'd give you guys the real story. It's not like walking through fog everywhere, and once you're here for a while you kind of forget about it--after you finish coughing (usually for about a week, though not always your first week here--it has to have time to build up in your lungs, and then have time for your body to adapt), but it does get annoying sometimes. The weather report says it's cloudy everyday, but we know better. It's smog. In fact, some days there's so much smog, you can look directly at the sun. For as long as you want.
